Screen Liner
Oil screen liner is a key sand control equipment used in oil extraction to prevent sand particles from entering the wellbore. Its material is mostly J55 or N80 steel grade oil casing, which adapts to different geological environments through differences in steel grade and structure. The core function is to filter sand particles and ensure oil recovery efficiency. The main types include slotted screen pipes, wire wound screen pipes, composite screen pipes, etc. The technical parameters cover an outer diameter of 50-500mm and a seam width of 0.10-4mm, suitable for oil wells with sand particle size greater than 0.3mm.
The early wire wrapped sieve tube used trapezoidal wire welding technology, with a gap accuracy of up to 0.05mm and self-cleaning and anti blocking characteristics. However, it is prone to deformation of the gap due to collision during horizontal underground wells. With the advancement of technology, slotted screen pipes have gradually become mainstream due to their advantages of integrated pipe seam design, strong compression resistance, and low cost, especially suitable for horizontal wells and high sand reservoirs. Laser cutting technology further improves seam accuracy and processing efficiency, promoting the iteration of sieve tubes from traditional wire winding to high-performance slotted structures. At present, sand control technology mostly adopts a composite scheme of screen tube and gravel filling, forming a multi-stage filtration barrier.

The current application status of laser cutting of petroleum screen liner:
Screen liner is often used for completion or sand control in oil production and the most commonly used type is wire wrapped screen liner. Manufacturing method of this liner is to wrap a certain section of steel wire around a metal lining tube evenly distributed on the surrounding tubes or openings and weld it firmly, leaving a certain gap as the sieve holes. Although this manufacturing method has been widely used by many manufacturers in China, there are some problems with this type of screen pipe when going down the well, especially when strong pressure passes through the curved section of a highly inclined or horizontal well, it inevitably collides, squeezes, and rubs against the wellbore or casing, which can easily cause wire breakage, damage to the screen pipe, or deformation of the gaps, resulting in a decrease or failure of the completion quality and sand control effect. In response to this drawback of the wire wrapped screen pipe, a slotted screen pipe with integrated pipe and seam has emerged. Due to its superior performance and low price, the slotted tube has been highly valued and widely adopted by major oil fields since its appearance. Slotted pipes provide material conditions for the development of horizontal wells and lateral drilling, as well as the oil extraction of high sand reservoirs.
